Linen supply in Bodrum

As part of our furniture packages we obviously supply linen. We also supply linen to our property management clients. From pillows, to pillow cases, to duvet covers and fitted sheets all supplied locally.


Our towels are produced from Turkish cotton and are delivered to us from Denizli. The bed sheet linen is produced in Turkey, then cut and sewn to size in Milas. All linen is in white.

Firstly, developers  furniture packs tend to be pricey and of a lower quality. Although this is not always the case, it would be a good idea to see what they have to offer during a visit to Turkey. One thing to their advantage is that they you have already built up trust with them so it is normally the easiest path to take but not always the best path.
 
One of the reasons we started the supply of furniture packs is to improve on the services offered here in Turkey together with offering furniture of a better standard than normally offered. The reason why we have our furniture made to measure is to be able to guarantee the quality. We use 1st quality MDF board for the tables wardrobes etc. 90% of furniture found in Turkey is chipboard which has a lower life expectancy and of course it is cheap, and of inferior quality.
 

The made to measure aspect makes it possible to choose any size table for example and match the wood with the coffee table, bed head boards etc for a consistent look rather than a mix match of designs and colours that we often see in properties where the client has used a D.I.Y approach using local suppliers and Ikea furniture fro example. This also applies to the sofa, where any size can be chosen to fit the lounge exactly, rather than having to compromise on designs and colours. We have a huge range of faux leather and material to choose from.
 
Whether it is the construction company or your chosen property management company that hold the keys, we work with them for access. It  takes 4 - 6 weeks to supply all the items, we can normally install within about 3 days.

Cotton Canvas Artwork in Bodrum Turkey

Buying artwork in Turkey is not as easy as in the UK. Maybe Izmir and Istanbul a have picture galleries and Athena type shops, but the Bodrum area has little to offer.

Shopping on the internet in Turkey is also a varied experience. It can be done, but if there are problems, if you do not speak Turksih, there is little chance of sorting it out.

Besides that, the internet has not matured anywhere near to the standards or variety of the UK, Europe or the U.S.

So, where does that leave you? Well, we were fed up with the poor selection from Bodrum so we started to order from the UK. The canvas arrived by post in a roll, and we stretched them on a MDF frame.
This option worked for a while until we came across a local printer who could print on cotton canvas.
So we can now offer canvases far cheaper than those available in the UK.

We will be setting up a website in English and Turkish where we can supply artwork on cotton canvas from here in Turkey.

Mosquito (Fly) screens Bodrum

Whether you have an apartment in Gulluk, Bodrum, Tuzla or anywhere in Turkey, you will have come across the problem of mosquitoes. They do not seem to bother some people, but others come up in big red bumps when they are bitten.

There are many produced on the shelf to deter these pests such as the plug ins and slow burn wicks, but mosquito screens will stop them from getting into your villa or apartment in Turkey.

There is nothing more annoying than the whine of the mosquito as it buzzes past your head while you are relaxing or trying to sleep.

Depending on the size of your windows, and how big your property is obviously is a contributing factor to cost. The patio doors have a metal frame and windows a plastic one.
You are looking at 700TL to 1100TL for your average apartment in Turkey. Most property management companies offer a fitting service.
Apparently Mosquitoes do not like air conditioning!

To try and make it easier to select a furniture pack to to give a better idea of what is available at what cost, 3 furniture packs have been put together; economy, standard and Premium.
All packs can be tailored to individual requirements as properties differ in sizes and  budgets vary.

Satellite in the Bodrum area Turkey

So you want a satellite system for you property / home near Bodrum in Turkey. What are the options available?

• DSmart
• DigiTurk
• Decoder box
• Sky

The  Dsmart system has been the best in my opinion as it has an array of  channels not normally Free to view included in the standard connection. This however has changed, and apparently (if my Turkish serves me right) any system installed before September 2010 will continue to receive the channels from the Turksat satellite.

Now DSmart will cost a nominal fee of about 70TL per year instead of being free once you buy the box.What they charge next year, who knows.

DigiTurk Starting at 25TL per month with a good array of English speaking channels is a good bet if you live in Turkey but more most are willing to pay for a property available for rental.

You can buy a decoder in most electrical shops which can be tuned into any satellite, but the 4 available in Turkey that I am aware of with a standard sized dish are TurkSat, Hotbird and Thor and NileSat. You can buy a decoder for about 80TL then you have installation costs and the dish. For a complete set up with over 1000 channels (maybe 25 English speaking) 500TL would suffice.


There is an option to receive Sky in Turkey. Apparently north of Izmir a 1.5 metre dish is sufficient, but when you get to Bodrum or lower South a 3 metre plus is required. So receiving Sky in Bodrum, Akbuk, Dalaman is an option but it could set you back a few thousand Turkish Lira at least.
